Digital Library Project
The Library uses Digital Library software package for managing the Full Text/Dissertations. The Digital Library consists of modules on acquisition, cataloguing of pojects, thesis, articles etc. The uploading of thesis and dissertations is in progress. All the projects/thesis are mantained in the Digital Library Software access to which is available in campus network only.
Library Website Design and Development
The Library website (www.dce.edu/library/) has been designed and managed by DCE Students over a period of three months. It was a major step towards the automation of our library services and providing the interface to our e-journals, databases and resources.
Library Server Management
The Library uses Libsys software package which is an integrated multi-user library management system that supports all in-house operations of the Library. The Libsys consists of modules on acquisition, cataloguing, circulation, serials, article indexing and OPAC. Retrospective conversion of bibliographic records has been completed and 1,30,000 bibliographic records of books available in the Library, can now be accessed through the Libsys OPAC. The database of books available in the Library is being updated on day to day basis with details of recently acquired books. Records of all the Library patrons have also been created in the Libsys package. The editing and updating activities are in progress.
